We studied the degree of exposure to trichloroethylene and its impact on the health of 71 workers at 4 factories in the Inchon area in Korea during July 4 to 20, 1989. Trichloroethylene exposure was assessed with a symptom questionnaire, a CBC
test,
urinalysis, and test for serum GOT & GPT. To examine their degree of exposure, we measured trichloroethylene concentration in the air at the place, and urinary trichloroacetic and acid concentration. This study revealed that trichloroacetic acid
in
urine and trichloroethylene in air had linear relationship with regression analysis. Age, dermatologic and hepatic symptoms were major determinants for discriminating the subjects and the office workers.
